WalDads: Operation Twinkle a success
We had a great turnout for Operation Twinkle. WalDads lit up our campus with LED lights. Children arrived on campus for the Advent Spiral and were greeted by the magical glow created by WalDads just that morning.
Here’s a message from Dohnn Wood, a committed WalDad:
WalDads et al, I just left campus tonight after the lovely advent spiral ceremony, and I’m thinking about the beautiful message of finding your inner light and using it to guide you through the dark times. And then I walked out onto the campus freshly transformed by your work on “Operation Twinkle” and I think about the great and tangible lessons we are providing our sons and daughters with this volunteer work. So many important lessons about working for the good of the whole community and how with a little effort and know-how you can physically improve your surroundings in just a few hours.
For these, the dedication of the teachers and a myriad of other reasons I am so grateful to have found this community and school. I am proud of the work we have done and continue to do on campus, as well as the other volunteer and “volun-told” efforts that happen everyday in this school. It gives me hope for the future, because these kids are learning so much more than just their ABCs. And also for the now, as I see a group of individuals coming together to make the world a better, kinder, and healthier place. Thank you all for the work you do and for sharing your bonfire of inner light. Sincerely, Dohnn Wood
