KINDER CAMP| Summer garden Ages 3.5-6

June 17- Aug 9

Built upon Waldorf understanding of the child we provide children with a nurturing environment which allows the imagination to unfold. The majority of our day is spent outside in the warm summer sun, climbing trees, digging in gardens, and explore the great outdoors. We strive to provide a world where children can experience the wonder of childhood. Within the rhythm of our day, we have story time, snack, crafts, circle games, lunch, and nap.

Week one- June 10- 14, Alaska City Folk Arts Camp: Ages 8-17. $310

Activities begin before camp with sing alongs and contra dances. The camp day is filled with four classes chosen by the camper; anything from fiddling, to juggling, to swing dancing! After camp, open mic concerts and jam sessions encourage campers to sing and play together. Evening events are open to the whole family! Join us for the Wednesday night Faculty Concert, and the Camp Dance on Thursday night. You also won’t want to miss the End-of-Camp Celebration on Friday afternoon, where campers will amaze you with what they have learned throughout the week!

Week two- June 17-21, Earth Beneath our Feet: Age 6-12

This week campers will explore working with clay, creating treasures made from natural materials. They will also enjoy learning about local ecology with unique outdoor activities. A change of clothes or swimsuit is recommended as things could get a little messy this week.

Week three- June 24- 28, Games and Skills: Age 6-12

Games and skills will delight campers with obstacle courses and games that will challenge them to try new things. During arts and crafts time the children will create their own board games to take home and enjoy throughout the summer.

Week three- June 24-28, Orchestra Strings Camp: Ages 7-12

Join Mary Schallert, our orchestra instructor and BP Teacher of Excellence, for a week of musical exploration and inspiration.  We welcome beginning strings players ages 7-12 to learn the basics, as well as more experienced players looking to hone skills. Campers benefit from inspired small group instruction, with individual attention from Mary and our talented youth counselors.

Week four- July 1-3, Spacious skies * No camp July 4th/5th: Ages 6-12. $175

This week we will focus on all things that fly. Campers will craft catapults, planes, and flags. Explore wind and the power of solar energy with simple experiments and games this week.

Due to the July 4th holiday, this week camp will only meet three days.

Week five- July 8- 12, Backyard Circus: Ages 6-12

The amazing Backyard Circus! Campers will create fantastic show for parents, full of animal acts, clowning, juggling and plate spinning, hula hoops, acrobatics, and more! We will spend the week rehearsing our skits, crafting our circus props and costumes and present our show on Friday.

Week Six- July 15-19, Weird Science: Ages 6-12

Enjoy a week full of fun experiments, projects, games, and discoveries! Weird Science provides curious campers with age appropriate exploration of natural phenomenon. Our week will include plenty of time to play outside as well as create concoctions in our lab.
